Welcome

My daughters are homeschooled and over the past 9 years they have been involved in Girl Scouts (and by consequence so have I!)

My oldest joined as a Daisy and has always had a troop.  There have been ups and downs with the troop involvement but most of her experiences have been positive.

My middle has a different story.  She joined a 2nd year Daisy troop (having missed the first year.)  But her leader was awesome and let her catch up and work on the Badges and Journeys alone.  All she had to do was present her work to her leader.  She earned all 3 Journeys though her troop only earned 1 (the one my oldest taught them for part of her Silver Project!)   She earned all the petals and 2 of the 4 leaves.  Sounds great, right?!  We had to leave that troop due to meeting location and the stress it caused.  So she Juliette'd for her first year of Brownies.  She earned 2 of the 3 Journeys on her own, and a host of badges too.  Still longing for a troop that met outside the school, we found one in Brownie Year 2. Though they met on Sundays at the local scout house, all the girls went to the same school, and most had been friends since preschool.  Fitting is was a challenge, and things went rapidly south by the end of the year.  We're still trying to find a troop so until then, she will be a Juliette.

Now the littlest wants to join Girl Scouts too!  Who am I to say no!  Special request from the littlest, she doesn't want to be part of a troop - she wants to Juliette and do it on her own!  So here we begin.

The stories that follow on this blog maybe interspersed with stories of how we applied our homeschool to Girl Scouts, or it may be just about Girl Scouts, you'll get a mixed bag here.  Either way the goals of this blog are to help those who are doing Girl Scouts alone as a Juliette family.  Ideas and comments on your Girl Scout Adventures are welcome!
